The planned total treatment scale of Zhengzhou Xinqu sewage treatment plant is 1 million tons/day, the construction scale of the first phase is 650,000 tons/day, the construction scale of the second phase is 350,000 tons/day, the service area is 328 square kilometers, and it undertakes 40% of the sewage treatment task in Zhengzhou, integrating sewage treatment, recycled water reuse and sludge treatment. It is the seventh large-scale sewage treatment plant of one million tons in China.

The phase I project of Zhengzhou Xinqu sewage Treatment Plant covers an area of 736 mu. The sewage treatment adopts the process of “multi-mode A/A/O biochemical treatment + coagulation precipitation + V-type filter + sodium hypochlorite disinfection”, and the sludge treatment adopts the anaerobic digestion process + sludge thermal drying process. The second phase covers an area of 389 mu, and the sewage treatment adopts the process of “improved A/A/O+ coagulation precipitation + V-type filter + active coke adsorption + sodium hypochlorite disinfection”. At the end of 2019, Zhengzhou Xinqu sewage treatment plant project won the “National Quality Engineering Award”, in 2021 won the first place in the national “2021 Key Ecological environmental Protection Practical Technology and Demonstration Project List (the first batch of Urban sewage treatment low-carbon demonstration project field)”, in September 2023, selected as “ecological environmental protection industry green low-carbon case”.

Zhengzhou Xinqu sewage Treatment Plant is one of the few million ton sewage treatment plants in China which effectively improves the sewage treatment level of Zhengzhou City, improves the regional environmental quality, ensures the sustainable development of the region, and contributes to the green and low-carbon development of Zhengzhou City.
